Alberto Di Minin

Alberto Di Minin is Full Professor of Strategy (Economia e Gestione delle Imprese) at the Institute of Management - Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Visiting Professor at the Department of Operations, Organization and Human Resources - Twente University in The Netherlands, and Research Fellow with the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE, University of California Berkeley). Alberto's research and teaching deal with the appropriability of innovation. In particular, he focuses on open innovation and business model innovation. He also works on technology transfer, intellectual property and R&D management. Andrea Tenucci

Institute of Management 

Andrea Tenucci is Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. He has been visiting scholar at the University of Edinburgh (UK), Aarhus School of Business (Denmark) and Tampere University of Technology (Finland). His main fields of research are cost accounting and management in servitizing contexts, strategic management accounting, performance measurement, and accounting history. He is furthermore doing research on the interface between management accounting and Integrated Reporting. More info available here.

 

Carlo Alberto Avizzano 

Aggregate Professor 

Institute of Communication, Information and Perception Technologies

Carlo Alberto Avizzano is the Coordinator of the Perceptual Robotics Laboratory. He also leads the internal group on Intelligent Automation Systems. Carlo's research activities deal with intelligent robots and machines for interaction with humans (HCI) and within the industrial environment. These machine models simulate intelligent behaviours through reasoning and learning, and using smart environment observation through techniques of sensing, computer vision, deep learning, and robust control. Application interests are in the fields of surveillance, capture and understanding humans in the environment, autonomous driving, drone, UAV-UUV-UGV, plant control, user interaction, safety, simulators and training systems, robot assistant, automated diagnosis, predictive and condition-based maintenance.   Roberto Barontini

Roberto Barontini, Ph.D. in economics and management, is a full professor of Corporate Finance at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa (Italy). From 2005-2018, Director of the Masters' Course in Innovation, Management, and Service Engineering (MAINS). He is a Member of the Editorial Board of Sustainability and of the Journal of Management and Governance. 

His research currently focuses on capital budgeting, risk management, innovation financing, and corporate governance. In particular, research activity within the corporate governance area is primarily concentrated on ownership structure, executive compensation and the relationship between corporate governance and sustainability management. More info available here

 

Nicola Bellè

Nicola Bellé is an Assistant Professor of the Institute of Management (MeS Lab) and Associate Scientific Coordinator of the EMbeDS Department of Excellence at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Previously he was Assistant Professor at Bocconi University and SDA Bocconi, where he coordinated the Observatory for the Change of Public Administrations. His research and teaching activities focus on the use of behavioral sciences to improve decision-making and relational processes within public organizations. He is co-Editor of Public Administration Review, one of the leading academic journals in the area of public policy and administration. More info available here

 

Massimo Bergamasco

Massimo Bergamasco is a Professor of Theory of Mechanisms and Machines at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna. At present, he is the President of the ARTES 4.0 (Advanced Robotics and enabling digital Technologies & Systems 4.0) Competence Center in the framework of the Industry 4.0 of the Italian Ministry for Economic Development. He has been the founder of the Perceptual Robotics Laboratory. His research activity deals with the study and development of haptic interfaces and wearable robots for the control of the interaction between humans and Virtual Environments. His present research is focused on general aspects of perception and cognitive process in the field of embodiment and humanoid robotics. More info available here

 

Roberto Buizza

Full Professor

Institute of Life Sciences 

After 4 years at the ‘Centro di Ricerca Termica e Nucleare’ of the Electricity Board of Italy (CRTN/ENEL), in 1991 he joined the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), where he had been a key developer of the ECMWF ensembles, and served as Head of the Predictability Division and Lead Scientist. In November 2018 he left ECMWF, and joined ‘Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna’ of Pisa, as Full Professor in Physics. Since then, he has been working to establish a new initiative on climate with the support of the three ‘Scuole Universitarie Federate’ (Sant’Anna, ‘Scuola Normale Superiore’ of Pisa, and ‘Scuola IUSS’ of Pavia). Expert in numerical weather prediction, ensemble methods, and predictability, he has more than 200 publications, of which 100 in the peer-reviewed literature. More available here.

 

Maria Chiara Carrozza

Full Professor 

The BioRobotics Institute 

Maria Chiara Carrozza, former Ministry of Education, is a full Industrial Bioengineering professor at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, that she directed from 2007 to 2013. She is also the scientific director of Fondazione Don Gnocchi, a research hospital with 30 centers in Italy, doing translational research in rehabilitation and personal assistance. Author of several international publications and holder of various patents, she is also the president of the Gruppo Nazionale di Bioingegneria and member of Piaggio’s board of directors. She co-founded the start-up IUVO, that develops wearable robotics technologies for personal assistance. More information here.

 

Lino Cinquini

Full Professor

Lino Cinquini is Full Professor of Business Economics at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa. Editor in chief of Journal of Management and Governance, his scientific interests concern cost analysis and management accounting, cost management, strategic management accounting, performance measurement, private and public organizations and the history of accounting. Themes of particular interest are quantitative measurements for decision-making purposes and the determination of costs for business decisions - from the traditional tools and methods for determining and using costs to developing innovative methodologies in cost calculation and the use of information on costs for the purpose of orientation towards continuous improvement and the creation of value in the perspective of inter-organizational relations. Fabio Iraldo

Full Professor

Fabio Iraldo is currently holding academic positions as Full Professor of Management at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa, where he coordinates a research group within the Istituto di Management, and as Research Director at IEFE - "Institute for Environment and Energy Economics", a research center of Bocconi University in Milan. His expertise focuses on sustainable consumption, consumer choices, green marketing, and environmental footprinting. As an independent expert, he supports the activity of many national and international bodies dealing with sustainability-related issues (such as the European Commission, UNCTAD, ISO). Among his main research activities, there are pilot projects and studies carried out in the area of SMEs, involving several industrial clusters, supply chains, and networks, on behalf of national and EU institutions. Andrea Piccaluga

Andrea Piccaluga is Professor of Innovation Management at the Istituto di Management, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, where he is the coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Management. He is President of Netval, the Italian network of University Technology Transfer Offices. He collaborates with large and medium-sized companies (Knauf, GE Oil&Gas, Loccioni, TT Venture, etc.) in the field of Open Innovation and with the regional governments of Apulia (Arti) and Tuscany in the field of policies for entrepreneurship and technology transfer. He has published books and papers in the field of R&D management and technology transfer. Cesare Stefanini

Full Professor

The BioRobotics Institute

Since 2018, Cesare Stefanini serves as Full Professor at the BioRobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa with the role of Area Leader in “Creative Engineering Design”. His research activity is applied to different fields, including small scale biorobotics, actuators for compliant robots, biomechatronics and micro mechatronics for medical applications. He received international recognition for the development of novel actuators for microrobots and he has been visiting researcher at the University of Stanford, Center for Design Research, where he focused his activity on the issue of high-efficient, high-performance mechanisms for bio-robotics.   Francesco Testa

Francesco Testa is an Associate Professor of Sustainability of Management at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. His main research areas concern the relationship between institutional pressures, motivational drivers and environmental and economic performance, circular economy business models and sustainable entrepreneurship. Giuseppe Turchetti

Giuseppe Turchetti is a Full Professor of Management at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. Main research interests are strategic management and marketing, unconventional marketing and neuromarketing, marketing in the service sectors (banking, insurance, healthcare, tourism), wine and food marketing. Prof Turchetti has also a strong interest in the structure, organization and financing of the healthcare and long term care systems, management of health care organizations, economics and management of innovation in the healthcare sector, health economics and economic evaluation of healthcare technologies (drugs, medical devices, e-health), and economics and management of insurance companies. Nicola Vitiello

Associate Professor

The BioRobotics Institute

Nicola Vitiello is Associate Professor with The BioRobotics Institute (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, SSSA, Pisa, Italy) where he leads the Wearable Robotics Laboratory. He is a co-author of more than 70 ISI/Scopus papers and co-inventor of more than 20 patents/patent applications. He served as the Scientific Secretary of the EU FP7 CA-RoboCom project, and he was the scientific coordinator of the EU FP7 CYBERLEGs project. Currently, he is the scientific coordinator of the H2020-ICT-CYBERLEGs Plus Plus project, the national project MOTU funded by INAIL and is a partner of the H2020-FoF-HUMAN project.
